Canadian Cancer Society's Fields of Gold

More than 22,000 daffodil bulbs were planted in 2009 in gardens around the city. Every daffodil bulb honours family, friends and colleagues. Each bloom represents someone’s mother, father, sisters, brothers and friends - those we hold closest to our hearts.

Launched in 2009 Torontonians are generously supporting Fields of Gold, a joint partnership between the Canadian Cancer Society (Ontario Division) and the City of Toronto.

Four new garden locations are available throughout the city in the fall of 2010. Bulbs can be dedicated individually or an entire garden of 5000 bulbs can be secured, including permanent naming and dedication signage on site.

When you dedicate daffodil bulbs to be planted in our Fields of Gold gardens, you help honour a meaningful life and join in the fight against cancer.

Scotiabank Aids Walk for Life

CHUM FM is the proud radio sponsor of the Scotiabank Aids Walk for Life fundraiser happening on Sunday, September 19th.

This is an annual fundraising walk spearheaded by the AIDS Committee of Toronto. Each year thousands of caring individuals and groups in the community come together to collect funds, raise awareness, show support and continue to fight against this deadly illness that still has not been beaten.

Over 8.5 million dollars has been raised since 1989, but the work is not done. AIDS and HIV infects two more Torontonians every day.

What sets the 2010 Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life apart from other similar walkathons is the energy and comaraderie felt be all participants, volunteers and spectators. This year the event is hoping to increase the energy and excitement as they showcase the 22nd annual AIDS Walk for Life! The walk route is only 90 minutes.!!
